The Brian Etherington Meat Company, The Victoria Inn and Truro and Penwith College have joined forces to arm the next generation of hospitality workers with key industry skills.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Etherington’s wholesale butchery department.  The role would suit an enthusiastic individual already in the industry, looking to realise their potential and further a career as a butcher. The successful candidate would benefit from continued training and structured learning.

British Beef Week 2018 is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a steak, but which cut to choose? From fancy fillet and reliable rump to the lesser known onglet and the humongous tomahawk.

It’s been sixty-four years since Robert William Etherington established his butchery business in Crofthandy. Since then Britain has been many changes, not least the rise in supermarkets leading to the demise of many independent high street traders. Yet Etherington’s – now in the hands of Robert’s grandson Mark – has remained a steadfast presence in Cornwall, upholding the finest traditions of the British butcher.

The butchers at Etherington’s believe the best thing about roast dinners are the endless possibilites for variation. Allowing us to take influence from fantastic food cultures across the globe and transfer them into our weekend traditions.

This June, Etherington’s Director of Retail, Denise Pascoe will be walking 26 miles though Kenya in aid of the Christian based children’s charity, Compassion.

It’s always difficult choosing what to buy for the woman who has done and will do anything in the world for you. But this Mother’s Day hold off the generic bunch of flowers and head to our award-winning Farm Shop, brimming with goodies perfect for saying thank you.

This Sunday sees the start of the first ever Cornish Pasty Week organised by the Cornish Pasty Association. Until the 3^rd of March the county will be celebrating its most iconic food with a range of activities, culminating in the ‘Oggy Oscars’ – the seventh-annual World Pasty Championships at the Eden Project, near St Austell.
